It’s World Alzheimer’s Month – do your bit with these five ideas to fundraise and raise awareness.

September is World Alzheimer’s Month, a campaign organised by Alzheimer’s Disease International to raise awareness and challenge the stigma that surrounds dementia.

If you want to get involved, there are many things that we can do as individuals to make a difference and fight dementia together. We’ve taken a look and found five very different ways that you can help in your own way.

Don’t be limited by our list though… Visit your favourite charity’s website and see what fundraising events take your fancy.

Sign up for a Memory Walk
Get up on your feet and join 100,000 people in the fight against dementia. Choose from a number of organised Memory Walks across the UK throughout September and October – or get your friends and family together and hold your own Memory Walk. Who will you walk for?

Host a tea party
Do something sweet and organise your own cake sale to raise funds… whether that’s a coffee morning, or a bake sale for your workmates. If you like the idea but would prefer to take part in a larger campaign, then register your interest in Time for a Cuppa 2019.

Commemorate the life of a loved one
Remember a loved one with the Tree of Memories… a stylish work of art on display to visitors at Dementia Care’s Newcastle HQ. Engrave your leaf with the name and a personal message dedicated to your loved one.
